We drive a car that runs on used vegetable oil and we built a straw bale house... we thought this might be a fun way to document our adventures and maybe, in turn, help others who decide to give it a go as well. Note: If you are interested in reading about the building of our straw bale house check out the blog archive (on the right side a little ways down) from 2008- when we began our research and 2009- when we actually constructed the house.

1 of 2 bigger trees we bought with part of our 1st time home buyer tax credit! We want to get some shade started in our south facing yard for cooling in the summer. Everyday is earth day!

That's the way to do trees! Most of ours are rescue trees (suckers dug up where they weren't wanted and planted in our yard). Since they all started at 1 inch tall, even the ones that are two years old are only a foot and a half tall now. I hope they outgrow the kids before the kids mow them down!
